I don’t know how far you thought this through, or if you made this, but…listen:
Arrested Development is Star Wars.
The premise is explained in the title. Characters jump around a bit, but here goes.
Star Wars is a series of (originally) three parts.
Arrested Development has three seasons.
In both series, a major religious figure is lost in the first part (Obi Wan dies and George Sr. escapes prison), only to come back in an unexpected manner in the second.
A person and valuable documents are both thought to be destroyed in the first part of both series (Kitty and the yacht, Vader and the Death Star), only to not be dead after all.
Beginning the second part of both series, the main protagonist leave the troubles of the people who need them, only to come back. (Michael attempts to go to Phoenix, only to return when no one misses him, and Luke goes to Dagobah to train)
Both find some sort of magical figure that has been kicked out of an order discovering their long lost son (G.O.B. and Darth Vader).
Both second parts incorporate an escaped hero and a bounty hunter desperate to find him. (Han Solo and Boba Fett; George Sr. and ICE)
Both feature a young man going to an unlikely source, who is kind of creepy, for help in the second season (Michael and “Uncle” Jack; Luke and Yoda)
At the very end of both sequels (Part II), the romantic tension finally consummates into a kiss amid a horrible disaster. (Han and the cyrogenic whatever; George Michael and Maeby and the collapsing of the house.
Some of these things are a stretch. But, keep going.
In the second part of both, a young man discovers that he has been lied to about the identity of his father and loses his left hand (Buster and Luke).
At the end of the third part of both series, two twins find out the true nature of their relationship. However, Luke and Leia discover the ARE twins and stop making out, and Michael and Lindsay discover they aren’t, and start. (Well, kind of. You know. You’ve seen it.)
